BIG
DADDY WEAVE In
2002, Big Daddy Weave was nominated for the Dove Award's "New
Artist of the Year". Since then they have sold more than 350,000 CD's
and
garnered four "TOP 5" hits in Christian Radio, such as
"Fields of Grace", "Audience of One", "In Christ" and the
Number 1 song in Contemporary Christian Radio in 2005, "Worthy of My
Praise".
Big Daddy Weave entered the studio for the fifth time in their decade long career with a singular mission – to create a collection of songs that might somehow communicate the word placed on their hearts to the hearts of those who hear it. It might have been easier to simply try to recreate the success of their previous hit songs, such as “Every Time I Breathe” or “Audience of One.” Instead, the band set out to craft the most ambitious and varied album of their career by doing what they’ve been doing all along – refusing to compromise while stretching the artistic boundaries of what a Big Daddy Weave record is supposed to sound like. When asked to describe their fifth album, What Life Would Be Like, guitarist/singer/songwriter Mike Weaver characterized it as being “all about expectations.” “We all grew up in church,” Mike explains. “That is awesome, and I’m thankful for it, but there is also some baggage that comes with that. We grew up hearing people talk about grace, but there seemed to be an unspoken law that said, ‘but you also have to do this, this, this, this, and this.’ Nobody ever said it out loud, but I saw how people who didn’t do ‘this, this, this, this, and this’ were treated. Now truly, you will know a tree by its fruit, but that’s not grace. With What Life Would Be Like we are ripping up our old expectations to get to a place where we can receive the heart of God.” VISIT BIG DADDY WEAVE'S WEBSITE |

DAVID
NASSER
In 1979, Iran is embroiled in a bitter revolution. Untold numbers of people are being slaughtered everyday. Gas prices are skyrocketing across the world. Fear and panic grips the Mid East. Fortunately, in the midst of this horrible turmoil, God is moving. David, only nine at this time, is forced to escape his native homeland of Iran with his family. They leave everything behind but each other, escaping to the United States in hopes of beginning a new life in a vastly different culture. In the years that follow, a young David Nasser feels isolated. He seeks acceptance from his peers, turning to everything imaginable to fit in, but always feeling like an outsider. However, David only finds true acceptance, at the age of eighteen, when through the persistent witness of a body of believers, David receives salvation and purpose through a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As one of the nation's forefront speakers and visionaries, God has blessed David with the talent to reach the high tech, attention-lacking culture of Generation Next. Involved in revivals, citywide rallies, camps, and school assemblies, David speaks to over 700,000 people each year. The heart's cry of D. Nasser Outreach is to effectively present the same relevant message, the Gospel of Christ, using fresh, innovative methods and resources. Alongside his own full time ministry, DNO is also growing rapidly as a mentoring and consulting ministry. DNO has worked extensively with ministries such as BGA, Youth Specialties, Student Life, Acquire the Fire, and many others. |
